Aldo Fusco had strong desire to construct and create, together with a natural eye for fashion and design, and studied architecture in college. His creativity was not fully satisfied until one day in 1973, when he came across a small hide of leather. The feeling of that piece of leather, the way it smelled and the creative potential it had in becoming any object that he may desire. It was intoxicating! Without any prior experience or knowledge in the art of leather he worked, cut and sewed the leather until it became a simple wallet. At the age of 22, working with leather felt natural. From that day on, he was in love with the entire process and has not stopped creating. From coin purses to belts and purses, he has continued to experiment and push himself to produce the latest in fashion and the highest quality goods with the highest quality leathers, provided by Tuscan vegetable tanning leaders. For over 20 years, he have been making goods for two stores in Rome, one in Modena and one in Verona and selling from his own stores. He has also taken on the task of mentoring young students eager to learn the trade.
Aldo originally from Rome but moved away from the bustle of the city to live among nature and the sea in Sorano Tuscan, the location of his country house. For the last 22 years he has called Orvieto home. The natural beauty of all these spots has continued to inspire. After successfully opening two shops in Orvieto, he is still driven by the love of his work to discover and create even more. “I feel I am giving each piece of leather a soul.” On his frequent trips to Florence, he seeks out the highest quality Italian leathers, looking for the best hides of cow, goat, sheep, deer, reptile and others exotics, all in different colors and finishes.
