In particular, the artist created a sculptural group composed of two distinct figures but united by the artistic and religious &#8220;message&#8221; that they were to represent: <em>The Annunciation<\/em>. Mochi created the first statue, the Announcing Angel in <strong>1603<\/strong> and about five years later the second statue &#8211; the Virgin. The characteristics of the Angel statue for expressiveness, proportions and stylistic language is considered by many critics and art historians, the <strong>first Baroque style statue in history<\/strong>.
