The Museum displays documents and papers about the many phases of building the Duomo.<\/p>\n
The Opera del Duomo Museum Network – MODO<\/strong> \u2013 is based on one of the most important artistic elements in the World: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (Duomo), which has in itself the Cappella Nova or of San Brizio Chapel, a place of incredible value and charm with the Luca Signorelli frescoes. The Museo MODO has other places that are worth a visit, including the Sant\u2019Agostino church. The Fabbriceria (organization) has been preserving objects, documents, and pictures for over eight centuries.<\/p>\n

The Papal Palaces exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n
Ground Floor: gallery which includes fragments of frescoes of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries related to “great workshop” Orvieto.<\/p>\n
First Floor: “Stanza delle Meraviglie”: paintings and sculptures by several artists of the past including Simone Martini, Ippolito Scalza, Cesare Nebbia and Arnolfo di Cambio.<\/p>\n
First Floor: “Stanza delle Sinopie” hosts large panels of sinopie of fourteenth-century frescoes in the chapel of the Corporal Duomo, detached during the restoration period (between 1975 and 1980).<\/p>\n
\n
Libreria Alb\u00e8ri<\/strong>: set between the Papal Palace and the Cathedral is a decorated space with precious frescoes; this library was built in 1499 to host the Archdeacon Antonio Alb\u00e8ri\u00a0collection.<\/p>\n
This important collection includes over 300 manuscripts and precious ancient books. The reliquary of the Corporale<\/strong> is also exhibited in these rooms of the museum, a marvelous work of goldsmith (made by the artist Ugolino di Vieri) who for years has kept the sacred blood-stained linen of the miracle of Bolsena<\/p>\n

Palazzo Soliano<\/strong><\/a>: ground floor, a modern art collection of bronze sculptures and other graphics works by Emilio Greco, a famous Sicilian sculptor that also worked on the three bronze doors of the Duomo.<\/p>\n

Church of St Agostino<\/a><\/strong>: The ancient church of the Augustinian monks is\u00a0 an exhibition space run by the Museo and for many years has hosted the sculptural statues of the Apostles and the Saints (made between the late sixteenth and early eighteenth centuries) now relocated in the Duomo.<\/p>\n
