Part of the city center is a limited traffic zone (called locally ZTL) or pedestrian only, therefore it is convenient to park your vehicle in dedicated areas. These spots are \u201cpay parking only\u201d and the rate is \u20ac1.50 per hour (rates are subject to change and may vary by area) until 10.00 pm.<\/p>\n<p><b>Parking Lots: <\/b>here is a list of the main parking lots in Orvieto. The lot can be accessed from the Strada Statale or the Umbro-Casentinese Conce road. This parking area has garage with direct access to the city center by elevator, escalator or stairs located at the path, or Via Ripa Medici. Both methods lead to the side of Orvieto near Piazza della Repubblica.<br \/>\n<strong>The elevator Ripa Medici<\/strong> is free and open from 7.00am until 2:00am while the escalators are open from 7.00am until 9:00pm. The parking fee of Campo della Fiera is \u20ac 1.50\/hour.<\/p>\n<p><b>VIA ROMA PARKING \u2013 <\/b>(map: <a title=\"Orvieto Via Roma Parking Map\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/K5S7QBjRQK4xggvg9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/K5S7QBjRQK4xggvg9<\/a>) In front of the former barracks there is a large covered pay parking lot. The parking fee is \u20ac 1.50\/hour. From this parking you can easily reach (100 mts walking distance approx) one of the main city street: Corso Cavour.<\/p>\n<p><b>Other parking areas in Orvieto center \u2013 <\/b><strong>Piazza Marconi<\/strong> has many visitor parking spaces and is located directly behind Piazza Duomo, <strong>Piazza XXIX Marzo<\/strong> and <strong>Piazza del Popolo<\/strong> (Piazza del Popolo is closed every thursday and saturday mornings for the local food market). These parking lot has a mix of visitor and resident parking so be sure to only park in spaces outlined in blue. In Piazza Cahen, there is also the funicular station and the starting point of the local mini bus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where to Park in Orvieto Scalo (downtown)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-46755\" src=\"https:\/\/www.orvietoviva.com\/nuovosito\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/piazzadellapace-orvieto-scalo-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>PIAZZA DELLA PACE PARKING (Orvieto Scalo)<\/strong> &#8211; This is a large parking area in Orvieto Scalo. (map: <a title=\"Piazza della Pace Parking Orvieto\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/ixKF1CGo37KqEaxw5\">https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/ixKF1CGo37KqEaxw5<\/a>) Coming from the tollhouse follow the sign posts towards Hospital and then towards Strada della Direttissima (you can also find a large sign post Parcheggio Funicolare). After 250 metres this parking area is on the left. <strong>It&#8217;s free for cars while tourist buses has to pay \u20ac 65,00 per day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From this area is very easy to reach the city center. Passing under the train station subway you reach Piazza Matteotti where the station of the <strong>Funicolare<\/strong> (funicular) is located. Taking this cable car and in a few minutes you reach Piazza Cahen (Orvieto). The funicular runs all days (every 10-15 minutes). The city center can be reached by the funicular (about 2 minutes and half) or by urban bus. Daily fee for each bus is <strong>\u20ac 65.00<br \/>\n<\/strong>Payment through the web platforms <strong>MyCicero<\/strong> or <strong>Mooneygo<\/strong> or payment on spot (electronic payment allowed) at the local bus ticket office (Piazza della Pace).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Bus Parking lot of Orvieto center<\/strong> in <strong>Piazza d\u2019Armi<\/strong> at <strong>ex<\/strong> <strong>Caserma\u00a0Piave.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bus parking area in Orvieto city center (10 parking spaces) near Piazza Cahen. Daily fee for each bus is <strong>\u20ac 85.00. <\/strong>Reservation and payment through the web platforms <strong>MyCicero<\/strong> or <strong>Mooneygo.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Important: to access the Orvieto center and ex Caserma Piave parking area, it&#8217;s mandatory having reservation with accommodations or restaurants in the city center, or be accompanied by a licensed local tour guide.
